Nine Cattaraugus County 4-H members ranging in age from 5-17 showed a variety of sewing projects at the county 4-H Fashion Revue on May 21st.
“This was our largest group in recent years, and we’re excited to see our sewing program growing,” said 4-H Educator Abby Luzier.
The Cornell Pesticide Safety Education Program, part of Cornell University’s Integrated Pest Management program, is pleased to announce the availability of the 2025 New York and Pennsylvania Pest Management Guidelines for Grapes.
Lozier Environmental Consulting, Inc. is a laboratory that specializes in water analysis in the Rochester, New York area. They test potable and non-potable water sources for biological and chemical contamination. In order to provide their services to those who might otherwise not have access, they are expanding their operation. Starting June 1st, 2025, Lozier will offer courier services from Cattaraugus County CCE back to their laboratory to help ease time restraints on clients. All supplies and instructions will be available to customers at the CCE Office in Ellicottville.

On Sunday, May 4th, five Cattaraugus County 4-H members were selected to participate in our second “Ride for Success” with clinicians Bobbie Kerr and Rebecca Clawson hosted by our 4-H Horse Committee members at Fox Run Equestrian in East Aurora, NY.
Our Master Gardener Volunteers are ready to help with your gardening question, identification or issue. Bring your question to the Help Line by telephone, e-mail or walk-in on Tuesdays, noon to 2:00 during the growing season.
Our Master Gardener Volunteers will review your question and set you in the right direction with advice or resources. We also offer soil sample testing (there is a fee for some testing services), consider bringing in your soil samples for testing. pH testing is free for Cattaraugus Gardeners.
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Cattaraugus County is teaming up with native plant experts at My Home Park to launch their first native plant sale fundraiser aimed at beautifying local landscapes while promoting ecological health and water conservation.
